Why We Do It.
You will recognize them by their fruit. We are all a part of the tree of life. Each family represents a branch. And the fruit we produce depends on so many factors. Factors that can sometimes be controlled and some that cannot. Trees need TLC to survive; water, pruning, fertilizing, & harvesting, etc... The fruit is the product of how the tree is taken care of. If we neglect them, they wilt and die. If we care for them properly, they grow, thrive, and produce fruit ripe for the harvesting. We harvest fruit to eat. God harvests fruit to save and to love and to call His own. It's not the tree itself that Im talking about here. It is the fruit of the tree. The fruit is the whole purpose of the tree. And the fruit represents those people that the caretaker, namely society as a whole, has neglected. They have had to go out in the streets and get their nourishment, which without they would die. The low income, sometimes uneducated, addicts, and alcoholics are the apples that fell very far from the tree. When they fall that far it is hard to get them back. If you wait too long to gather them up, you miss the opportunity to save them. They go bad. Societies answer has been to take on the Lock-em-Up and throw away the key mentality. They're rotten, get rid of them. How much longer will we throw away good apples before we realize that if we catch them as they fall from the tree they will be just as good as the red delicious apples that are picked from the branches? Or are we going to continue to pick and choose who we want to help; which apples are good and which apples are bad? Let us help each and every human being; not just the ones who are more priviledged; those who just haven't been caught; or those who hide their wrongs? It is time that we step up and do something that can change the lives of so many. It is time we change our thinking and teach the addicts, alcoholics, offenders, ex-offenders, the uneducated, and even sometimes the rich, educated, and others who have a problem, how to deal with the problem so that the outcome is different. They need our help. When will they be loved? When will they be hugged? When will we pray for them and feed them and visit them in prison? When will we start treating them as Jesus showed us how to treat our fellow man? When will we love our neighbors as we love ourselves? Yes, today's inmate is tomorrow's neighbor. Or are they already your neighbor? Do you even know your neighbor? When will we give them one more second chance? When will we practice forgiveness? When will we practice unselfish concern for others? I say let's start today!! Let's teach them how to stay clean and sober and live rewarding and productive lives. Lets give them the tools to raise their own garden. I would bet that they would catch every apple that fell before it hit the ground if just given the chance and encouragement. If someone would believe in them enough to not give up on them no matter what. These people are so much like you and I when you really get to sit down and talk to them face to face. They have children, moms and dads; brothers and sisters; wives or husbands; grandchildren and other loved ones who care about them. They love, they laugh and they die. Just like you and I. So why not put your branch and fruit to work for you. Branch out by reaching out. Help us help them. We will be offering different services off and on. Some may discontinue and new ones may appear. So log on daily and keep informed. Until we decide which services are needed the most. You can become a part of this tree that will produce fruit fit for a king; THE KING; Jesus Christ, by using the services offered, becoming a part of the services as a volunteer, donating to the cause, or by telling us what service you want us to offer. Have you ever had a loved one or friend that went to prison? Please contribute or donate for this very worthwhile cause. If you don't want it, we probably won't have it. But if you want it bad enough, we will find a way to get it.
A large portion of the proceeds will go to help the families of those who are incarcerated. Will you help them feed their family until their loved one comes home?
